Speech Processing and Recognition

Summary

An interdisciplinary course which provides an introduction to the analysis, modeling, and recognition of speech signals. Topics covered include: fundamentals of speech science, acoustic-phonetics, discrete-time linear predictive (LPC) models, short-term analysis of speech signals, voice coding methods (CELP, GSM), speech recognition principles (hidden Markov models), and special topics in human-computer interfaces.
